Seth’s death
The story of Seth’s death is an important one. He was the patriarch of the first family after Adam and Eve had been expelled from Eden. Seth was a wise man who had a good heart and was very generous with his family. He was also a musician and liked living in the country as well as in the city. The Bible mentions that he lived with his elderly parents and may have been influenced by their overly loving nature.
Seth is mentioned twice more in the Bible. First, he is mentioned as the ancestor of Noah in the First Book of Chronicles. Seth is also mentioned in the genealogy of Jesus in the Gospel of Luke. In the genealogy of Jesus, Seth is listed as the second human after Joseph and the third in the line of God.
Seth lived over nine centuries, but his life was shorter than that of Adam. In Genesis 5:24, he dies at the age of 912. This means that he had a little less time to see his grandson Noah. During his life, Seth was faithful to God. When his son Enoch was exiled, he was probably among those who looked for him. Seth died in the year 912, 14 years before Noah was born.
